Lizzie and Jane

Greetings, reader!

Oo, I got in such a fluster when I saw this months round of the Seraphim Social as the theme is 'Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen' - one of my favourite books of all time. I love all things Austen (and Bronte and classic novels in general) and it was so much fun to see all the Austen and Regency related goodies that were available. I got totally carried away planning about a million different pics I could do though, of course, my usual time limitations meant I only manged to do the one photo after all. Perhaps I'll find time to 'create' a Darcy and Bingley at some point and do a fun wedding or ballroom shoot. Hehe.
I love these two gowns by BCC and Croquet - very simple and effective. Perfect Regency day gowns. I spent quite a lot of time trying all my various skins to find ones that would be suitable for the era, that is, not too tanned and obviously void of any make-up. I didn't really want to buy any new skins but I think I managed ok in the end using the lovely Mothergoose skins that I already had. Lizzie may look a little too tanned but she is outdoorsey so we'll just imagine she's been spending a lot of time walking backwards and forwards to Netherfield.
I made a little set, the details of which I will list below, though I modded a lot of stuff I had. The climbing flowers by Spargel and Shine are divine - these were the only new things I purchased for this photo but I'm definitely going to be using these in my summer home. Oo, and being a bit Austen obsessed I have, obviously, recently watched the movie 'Austenland' and its a lighthearted bit of girly escapism, thoroughly enjoyable for any fan of the books and Regency period. Perhaps a little obvious in plot but worth a watch if you love Austen . Even better is the 'Lost in Austen' ITV mini series from 2008, the heroine is MY kind of Austen fan!
